How to Play

Fantasy Snake

Fantasy Snake fills a roster slot one meal at a time. Twelve real players come to the board as food, one after another, and every one you eat replaces the last as your pick. How long you keep eating is the whole decision.

Eating a player

To turn, tap the side of the snake you want to go. While it is moving sideways, tap above its head to turn up or below it to turn down; while it is moving up or down, tap to the left or right of it. The arrow keys work too on a keyboard. Run over a player and they are banked — yours if the run ends now. The next player appears somewhere else on the board, your tail grows — more with every meal — and the crawl gets faster.

The players get better the longer you last, so eating is never the question. The question is whether to go for one more with a tail that long.

Defenders

From the fourth meal on, every player you eat scatters a few grey defenders onto the board, and they stay for the run. They end a run exactly the way the wall does — by the late meals you are threading them at top speed with most of your tail behind you.

Crashing

Run into the wall, a defender or your own tail and you draft whoever you banked last. That is not a penalty, it is the mechanic: the crash is how the pick gets made, and a run that ends on the tenth player is a better pick than one that ends on the third.

Crash before eating anyone and nothing is drafted at all. The same twelve players are waiting to be tried again.

You can also cash in at any time, which ends the run standing up with whatever is banked — no deliberate crash required.

The twelfth player

The menu is twelve players long and the last one is always a true stud. Eat it and the round ends in that draft on the spot — there is nothing left on the board to keep slithering for.

Where Snake shows up

Snake is playable as a standalone game, as a weekly Leaderboard entry ranked against everyone else that week, and as the draft mechanic inside a League.

The other mini games fly and climb instead: Fantasy Flap and Fantasy Doodle. Point values are on the scoring page.
