How to Play

Fantasy Flap

Fantasy Flap fills a roster slot out of a side-scroller. Every pipe carries the name of a real player, and the only two things you can do with a pipe are hit it or miss it. Which one you choose is the draft.

How a pipe works

Every pipe is a player at the position you are drafting, so there is no wrong slot to land in, only a better or worse name to land on.

The squeeze

The further you get, the better the players on the pipes become, and the narrower the gaps get. Those two things happen together on purpose. Passing on a backup early is easy. Passing on a genuine starter, twenty pipes in, through a gap that has been closing the whole time, is the actual game.

Greed is punished by geometry rather than by a rule, which is why nobody needs the rule explained to them twice.

Crashing

Hit the ground and the round starts over, but the pipes do not. They pick up where they left off, so a crash costs you position and nerve, not progress. You are never sent back to the worst players on the board for a bad flap.

The wall

Survive to the 25th pipe and you meet a wall with no gap in it at all. There is nothing to thread and nothing to decide: it is a guaranteed pick, from the entire pool, at any tier. Getting there is the hard part, and it is meant to be.

Where Flap shows up

Flap is playable as a standalone game, as a weekly Leaderboard entry ranked against everyone else that week, and as the draft mechanic inside a League.
